Labidochromis caeruleus is a Lake Malawi species. The yellow variety is one of the best known in the hobby: bright yellow, with a black stripe along the dorsal fin. It is one of the calmest mbuna, ideal for beginners.
This fish is an adult male: you can see the black pelvic and anal fins typical of males. The photos show the fish for sale, in hand in the tank and on the net.
It needs hard, alkaline water, rocks with hiding places and a spirulina-based diet. It does well with other mbuna in different colors and with peacocks in large tanks.
